Know your height, length and turning space
Motorhomes need more room than a car. Check dimensions at handover and watch for low branches, canopies, car parks and narrow entrances. Ask a passenger to help watch clearance from a safe position when manoeuvring.
Use the camera as an extra view
A reversing camera helps you see behind the vehicle, but does not replace mirrors or a walk-around. Check for people, posts, bikes and overhead obstacles before moving. If unsure, stop and reassess.
Prepare for Australian roads
Drive on the left, follow posted signs and keep everyone in an approved belted position while moving. Children need compatible, correctly fitted restraints. Check the current rules for each state on your route.
Overseas licences
Eligibility depends on your licence, residency and hire conditions. Review VicRoads guidance and Camplify requirements before booking. Bring the original licence and any required translation or International Driving Permit.
A gentler driving day
Plan regular breaks, use only approved drivers and stop if tired. Allow time on winding roads and in bad weather. Check closures and your permitted roads. A 4WD badge does not give unrestricted permission for beaches or remote tracks. Confirm toll and kilometre arrangements before departure.
